All of our games, with the exception of Live Casino games, use a Random Number Generator (RNG) to determine the outcome of every hand or spin. The outcome cannot be influenced by any external factors, including ourselves, in any way.
Every 3 months, eCOGRA, a leading independent and internationally approved testing agency, conducts an audit of all bets placed on our RNG games to determine the Return to Player percentage (RTP). You can find those results here.
What does RTP (Return to Player) mean?
A Return to Player percentage indicates how much a game should pay out over a long period of plays.
If a slot has a stated RTP of 93%, you can expect the game to return €0.93 for every €1 wagered.
Short-term results can swing wildly in either direction during any individual session. RTP is a long-term measure, not a guarantee for a single session.
How is RTP calculated?
RTP is calculated across millions, or even billions, of game rounds. You can work out your own RTP using this formula:
Wins ÷ Wager × 100
Example | Calculation | RTP |
Wager €100, returned €90 | 90 ÷ 100 × 100 | 90% |
Wager €100, returned €110 | 110 ÷ 100 × 100 | 110% |
More information can be found here.
Why have I won less than the advertised RTP?
The RTP is not an indicator of how much you can win in a single session. It is a measure of all wagers from all players pooled together over time.
The longer you play a particular game, the closer your results should get to the theoretical RTP. This is over a very long period of time, think months, not minutes.
If you are feeling frustrated or find yourself chasing losses, consider taking a break, setting deposit limits, or self-excluding [here]. Only ever bet with money you can afford to lose.
What does RNG mean?
RNG stands for Random Number Generator. It is a mathematical system used to generate random outcomes which, in casino games, could translate to a symbol on the reels, a number on the roulette wheel, or a card in your hand.
RNGs ensure the randomness and fairness of all our non-live games.
Frequency of bonus and feature rounds
Almost every casino player has asked themselves this question at some point. You might trigger a bonus on your first spin one day, then play hundreds of spins the next without it hitting.
This is due to the random nature of casino games. There is no guarantee of a feature triggering over the course of a single session, and previous results have no bearing on the next spin.
What is volatility?
Volatility explains how a slot game pays out. It does not change the overall long-term return, just how wins are spaced.
Volatility | What to expect |
Low | More frequent wins, typically smaller amounts |
High | Less frequent wins, but potentially much larger amounts |
Medium | A balance of both |
The best choice depends on your play style and whether you prefer regular payouts or the chance of bigger wins.
Are Live Casino games fair?
All Live Casino games on BetVictor are supplied by licensed providers. Games take place in controlled environments that are regularly audited to standards approved by regulators. This includes monitoring of all equipment such as roulette wheels. Some games also use an element of RNG, for example to decide multiplier amounts, which is tested and certified in the same way as slot games.
