1. Majority Betting

In UK election Majority betting markets, the term Overall Majority means that one party must win more than half of the available seats.

For example, if there are 650 seats in a UK General Election, an overall majority requires at least 326 seats.

If a party wins 325 seats, this is not considered an overall majority and would be classified as a hung parliament.

If a seat is postponed or delayed, it will be included in the bet and settlement will be delayed until the result is known.

2. Total Seats

This market applies to seats contested on the UK mainland only. Seats in Northern Ireland are not included unless otherwise stated.

If a seat is postponed or delayed, the bet remains valid and settlement will be delayed accordingly.

3. Northern Ireland Seats

For betting purposes, seats won in Northern Ireland do not count towards Politics markets unless otherwise stated on the website.

4. Next Party Leader

A Next Party Leader bet refers only to a permanent appointment, as officially announced by the party. Temporary or caretaker appointments do not count.

If a candidate withdraws or decides not to run, all bets on that candidate will be settled as losers.

5. Seat, Constituency or By-Election Betting

The official result declared by the returning officer will be used for settlement purposes.

Any legal challenge or appeal will not affect settlement.

If a candidate withdraws from the election for any reason, that candidate will be settled as a loser.

These markets are strictly single bets only.

6. Voter Turnout

For individual seats, turnout refers to the total number of votes cast as declared by the returning officer.

For overall elections, turnout is based on official statistics published by Parliament.

If a seat is postponed or delayed, settlement will be delayed accordingly.

Seats in Northern Ireland are excluded from this market.

7. Next President, Republican & Democrat Nominees

Settlement is based on the publicly declared winner of the US Presidential Election under the Electoral College system.

Any legal challenge or appeal will not affect settlement.

The result is based on the candidate officially announced as the winner.

If there is ambiguity, BetVictor may use reasonable discretion based on available information at the time.

7.1 US Primaries / Caucus Betting

All Primary and Caucus markets are settled on the first official declared result. Any later changes do not count.

8. London Mayoral Elections

This market is based on the elected Mayor of London as chosen by the electorate.

Legal challenges do not affect settlement.

Party nomination markets are settled on the official result declared by the relevant party.

If a candidate does not stand, bets on that candidate will be settled as losers.

9. Next Government

If a coalition includes more than two parties, selections naming only two parties will be settled as losers.

Settlement is based on the first government formed after the General Election.

If no party or coalition is given assent to form a government, all bets on this market will be void.

If Labour or Conservative form a minority coalition government, Labour Minority or Conservative Minority will be deemed the winner, and all other coalition options will be losers.

10. Election Debate Winner

The winner of the debate is determined by the YouGov post-debate poll.

11. Prime Minister After Next General Election

This market will be settled based on the formation of the first government that is given assent by the ruling monarch after the UK General Election.
