When placing a bet on greyhound racing, am I backing the trap or the dog?

When you place a bet on a greyhound race, you are betting on the trap number.

  • If a reserve runs, your bet transfers to the reserve.

  • The exception is when an early price has been taken. In this case, if the original selection becomes a non-runner, the stake will be refunded and the reserve will not apply.

Tricasts

  • Tricast bets, where selections must finish first, second and third in the correct order, are accepted as single bets only.

  • Any Tricast doubles, trebles, etc., accepted in error will be divided equally into Tricast singles.

  • Greyhound Tricasts are only accepted on races where a computer Tricast dividend is declared.

  • If no Tricast dividend is declared, bets will be settled as a computerised Straight Forecast on the selections nominated to finish first and second, with the third-place selection ignored.

What happens if I have a Non-Runner in a Forecast or Tricast?
