Bet errors and settlement issues

What happens when something goes wrong with your bet or our service.

This article references our Individual Sports Rules and Terms and Conditions. We recommend familiarising yourself with both before placing your bets.

General disclaimer - section 14 and section 20.

BetVictor will not be responsible for any delays, errors, or losses due to failure, breakdown, interruption, or malfunction of computer hardware, software, or internet or other communications media. BetVictor will use reasonable endeavours to overcome any such event but does not guarantee its ability to do so. BetVictor reserves the right to cancel any transactions arising as a result of any such event.

Palpable or obvious errors - section 14.7.

If BetVictor makes an obvious error on a price or other bet condition, the bet will generally be voided and you will be informed. In some circumstances the bet may be treated differently.

In-play errors - sections 9.7(b) and 14.7.

If BetVictor experiences a technical failure or any delay in updating prices, suspending, or closing events, any bet accepted after the event has occurred and the result is known will be deemed late and all stakes will be voided and returned.

If an obvious pricing error occurs during in-play betting, BetVictor reserves the right to void all bets and return stakes.

Late bets- section 9.7(b).

Any bet accepted after the advertised or official start time, other than bets on in-running markets, will be void.

Loss of scout or feed, in-play disconnection - section 14.6.

If, during an in-play event, BetVictor is unable to continue offering betting due to loss of pictures or scout stream, all bets already taken will still stand and will be settled once the event has been completed and the result is known.

Duplicate fixtures - section 14.7.

Every effort is made to avoid publishing the same fixture twice. If a duplicate fixture appears and a multiple bet is placed including both fixtures, the bet will be void. It will not be settled as split stake singles.

Resettlements - sections 14.8 and 14.9.

BetVictor reserves the right to correct obvious errors and re-settle bets at the correct price or terms. BetVictor may also offset any positive account balance against any amount owed, including where bets are re-settled or payment errors occur.

Video stream

Due to the nature of internet connections, the video stream may occasionally be out of sync.

If using a mobile device, BetVictor recommends the following browsers for an optimal experience:

  • Android devices: Google Chrome

  • iOS devices: Safari

Live streaming

  • Live horse racing streams will be shown in accordance with advertised race times. Race delays may result in part or all of the race being unavailable.

  • Live streaming is provided by a third party. If you are unable to view a race, BetVictor can report the problem but may not be able to resolve it immediately.

Note: Information displayed during LIVE In-Running betting, including video, scoreboards, and times, is for guidance only. It will not be used as a basis for bet settlement and should not be used as a basis for bet placement. BetVictor assumes no liability for any incorrect information displayed. Live video transmissions may be subject to delays, which can vary by customer.

My bet has been settled incorrectly

Although every effort is made to ensure your bets are settled quickly and correctly, there may be instances when an error occurs that results in incorrect settlement.

Before contacting us, please check the following:

  1. Was the bet placed using Sports Bonus Funds? If so, please be aware that the stake is not returned on a winning bet. See Sports Bonus Funds for more details.

  2. Has there been a Rule 4 deduction? You can check various results websites for details of non-runners. See Rule 4 for more details.

  3. Did you place the correct bet? It is possible you placed a different bet to what you intended. For example, you may have bet on the second half result rather than the full time result for a football match. You can check the bet description in My Account.

If after checking the above you still believe your bet has been settled incorrectly, please contact us. We will forward the details to our settlements team and adjust your balance accordingly.

To ensure a swift resolution, please have your Bet ID ready before contacting us. For more information on where to find your Bet ID, see How do I place a bet? → 7. Track your bet.
